7) The seventh step of making the illustration: Creating a texture trunk was also useful. I used the pen and line tool to create the texture on the tree trunk. I first drew textures and applied color a shade of brown from the swatch tool, and with the line tool I created the segments on a tree. This step made the tree branch more realistic.
6) The sixth step of making the illustration: I decided to change the tree trunk because it wasn’t realistic enough. So, I went over it with the pen tool, also by using add anchor point tool, delete anchor point tool, and selection tool to make the tree trunk more old looking, thicker, and realistic.
5) The fifth step of making the illustration: In the forth step, I had completed the basics of a tree. So to make my composition more realistic, especially the tree crown, I copied the tree crown that made in the past step. I copied it and paste it over and over. This effect gave the tree crown a more realistic look.
4) The forth step of making the illustration: In order to make the tree more realistic, I made texture like leafs for the composition. I made the leaf like texture by the pen and brush tool. After making the texture like leaf, I copied it and pasted few times throughout the composition. I also used the rotation tool and moved around the textures to place it in the right direction.
3) Third step of making the illustration: I made the basics of the tree. Then I wanted to apply color to my composition, so I selected the composition. Since each part of the tree has its own color, I used the direct selection tool to select each part (crown and trunk) separately. I used the switch tool and picked a shade of green for the tree crown and a shade of brown for the tree trunk. Then with the pen tool I created wholes on the tree crown to make it more realistic.
2) Second step of making the illustration: Then I applied the delete anchor point tool from the crown of the tree to make the tree trunk. After this I used the Add anchor point to complete the tree trunk.
